DETOX IS FINALLY HERE!!!!

WELL NOT QUITE...

The self proclaimed revitalization of the West Coast. Curtis Young, the son of the great Dr. Dre, has been creating a buzz over the internet recently with his new album Product of my DNA. It is impossible not to expect greatness from this young man. He is defitnetly in the shaadow of one of the great Hip Hop pioneers. But with songs such as Light it Up and Muzik, we can see at TwankTV, that Curtis is no mere mini Dre, but his own man proving his worth. What we respect about Curtis is he fact although he does recognize his father as his inspiration, he is not following in his footsteps, he is staring from the ground up. Did not sign with a major label just yet, he is currently signed to Young Entertainment.

In his first video off the album, Curtis asserts that he is his own man. That the "Product" is himself and not his father. He has a determination to be the next star coming out of California. The song Muzik, brings listeners that original west coast beats, with the piano playing loud and clear in the backround.

What I like about Curtis is his flow not being similar to other rappers in the west coast. Most west coast rappers that have recently come out, and failed, have all tried to imitate Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Pac, and the N.W.A. Curtis on the other hand brings a new flow. He doesn't focus on gangsta rap, or killing teh compeption or slinging on the streets. rather Curtis speaks about his determination to be the next best rapper out the west coast. He speaks about how he wants to change the vibe, and put west coast rap back on the map.

Curtis is almost his father's twin. From the way he moves, looks, and he even spits similar to Dr. Dre. Lets hope that this likeness doesn't hinder Curtis from being successful. We suggest that people give Curtis Young a chance before writing him off as another Dr. Dre. Curtis has a lot to say and alot to prove. But he gets the approval of us over here at TwankTV.

So we leave you with this, two of Curtis Young's premiere videos: Muzik and Light it Up. ENJOY!!!
